My Bible reading this morning took me to Acts 5 when Peter was boldly proclaiming God’s Word both in the street and in the Temple. He had been threatened about doing it and had it not been for Gamaliel Peter might have even been put to death in Acts 5 because of his preaching. Peter’s answer to the high priest was, “We must obey God rather than men” was nothing but pure boldness and faith in God. He was willing to take any beating presented and even the threat of death itself and still, he proclaimed the truth.
While the obstacles we face or will face may not be as drastic as Peter’s, we face similar types of challenges in our own daily walk. Are we willing to stand up for what we know to be the truth with our friends when they suggest things we know are against God’s will? Are we willing to take a stand in our work place against issues that we know are not good for the business or our customers? I know a person that had to make those decisions once for theirwork place. Because they refused to abide by some unscrupulous business practices the company brought in someone that would. Their friends supported their decision and commended them for standing up for their principles in light or what the consequences were. Not to long after that, the person that was the replacement, was busted for selling drugs from their home.
Are willing to stand for what is right for the Glory of God?
